I’m new to goth music and wondered if there are any albums that are a “must listen to”?

Mine would be Mask – Bauhaus, Goo – Sonic Youth, and Heaven or Las Vegas – Cocteau Twins <3

Usually good indicators for a good album, imo, is having un-skippable songs and being timeless (you can listen over and over without getting tired).

Interested to see everyone’s opinions here and low-key hoping for some good suggestions 🙂

I listened to a good amount of Goth albums but only some of Siouxsie’s work was something I really connected with. I’m hoping to get some good recommendations. Whoever gets top comment is the list I’ll listen to.

I'm new to goth music but the sound and culture have been scratching an itch and getting me out of my postpartum funk. Curious to know what are people's go-to albums and some key albums in general that really define "goth" for you?

Its by far one of the most memorable deathrock albums ive listened to and i havent really found anything similar to it since. Id love to get some recommendations 🙂

My picks would be Disintegration and Floodland, but I’d love to hear other people’s choices, especially if it’s lesser known stuff.

Title! I love buying CDs and want to expand my collection, but my music knowledge isn't as vast as I'd like it to be, so any recommendations would help me know what to search for when I enter record stores 🙂

Like the title says, I'm looking for goth albums that have a more darkwave/ethereal/ambient sound! Some albums I like for reference are Cocteau Twins – Treasure, The Cure – Seventeen Seconds, and Black Tape For A Blue Girl – As One Flame Laid Bare By Desire. Anything helps!
